E-petition
Initiated by Marco Cattalani from Burnaby, British Columbia

Original language of petition: English

Petition to the House of Commons in Parliament assembled

Whereas:
  • The Canada Health Act states: “It is hereby declared that the primary objective of Canadian health care policy is to protect, promote and restore the physical and mental well-being of residents of Canada and to facilitate reasonable access to health services without financial or other barriers”; and
  • The Government of British Columbia violates the spirit of the Canada Health Act by requiring payment of Medical Services Plan (MSP) premiums as high as $75/month from residents of British Columbia.
We, the undersigned, residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to 1. Intervene, and through all means at its disposal, require the Government of British Columbia to abide by the principles of the Canada Health Act and abolish MSP premiums in their entirety; and
2. Enforce the Canada Health Act across all Canadian Provinces and Territories.
