Petition to the House of Commons
Whereas:
- "O Canada" has served as a national anthem since 1939, officially becoming Canada's national anthem in 1980;
- Our children and their children should have the same anthem as their parents and grandparents. Passing our anthem from one generation to the next keeps our roots strong and honours our history; and
- Our national anthem should not be altered in any way whatsoever, as it is part of our history and our heritage.
We, the undersigned, Citizens of Canada, call upon the House of Commons to not allow any changes to be made to Canada’s national anthem.
