Petition to the Prime Minister
Whereas:
- Employment Insurance (EI) is considered taxable income;
- Automatic EI deductions are insufficient to cover the income tax on EI; and
- EI was the only option during the various COVID-19 lockdowns.
We, the undersigned, citizens of Canada, call upon the Prime Minister to declare Employment Insurance non-taxable income, similar to other government assistance programs.
