Petition to the House of Commons in Parliament assembled
Whereas:
- Welcoming refugees and our peace efforts show us to be a nation of peace;
- Children and women in Ukraine are in need in the middle of winter in eastern Europe due to the war on Ukraine by Russia’s leaders;
- All Canada has done is put in place visa-free entry measures, for an unlimited number of people, temporary work permits, unfortunately without the logistics necessary for Ukrainian children and women to reach Canada; and
- Canada can mobilize its government aircraft and charter its civilian aircraft to bring Ukrainian children and women fleeing the war to Canada. This Canadian airlift is meant to be a national peace effort.
We, the undersigned, citizens of Canada, call upon the House of Commons in Parliament assembled to pass emergency legislation to mobilize the logistical resources of the Government of Canada and allow its civilian aircraft to be chartered to transport Ukrainian children and women fleeing the war in eastern Europe to Canada.
