Petition to the Government of Canada

Whereas:
  • The federal government denies that it has an obligation to help approximately 25 Canadian children stranded in a Syrian detention camp during the COVID-19 pandemic;
  • There is no opportunity for these children to receive and education and they are being indoctrinated with ISIS extremism;
  • The children's immune systems are already weakened due to the harsh conditions they have been living in; and
  • The living conditions in these detention camps are repugnant, especially amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
We, the undersigned, citizens of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to repatriate these Canadian children, many of whom have lost their parents and loved ones due to the on-going conflict in Syria.
