Petition to the House of Commons
Whereas:
- Mark Bottineau was an amazing man, father, brother, son and friend who loved puns;
- Mark was diagnosed with Stage 4 carcinoma undefined cancer in August 2016, and this diagnosis was terminal;
- Mark handled his diagnosis the same way he dealt with life - with courage, strength, love and puns;
- Puns were a way for Mark to deal with the challenges of living with a terminal illness;
- In true Mark style, he provided laughter, love, and hope to his family and friends during the most difficult time of his life; and
- Mark was born and passed away on April 19th.
We, the undersigned, citizens of Canada, call upon the House of Commons to select the 19th of April, for each year going forward, to be the Official Pun Day for Canada, in memory of Mark Bottineau.
