Petition to the Government of Canada
Whereas:
- The Government of Canada has business relationships with Saudi Arabia;
- Saudi Arabia is a totalitarian state whose brutality and disregard for human rights has been demonstrated on many occasions;
- The sordid and obviously premeditated murder of Jamal Khashoggi by Saudi Arabia requires Canada to cut all ties with that country; and
- Raïf Badawi is still imprisoned, despite all the representations made.
We, the undersigned, residents of Quebec, call upon the Government of Canada to end all business relationships with Saudi Arabia, including, but not limited to, cancelling the armoured vehicle sales contract with Saudi Arabia.
