Original language of petition: English

Petition to the House of Commons in Parliament assembled

Whereas:
  • Christians are the most vulnerable and targeted victims in the world;
  • Christians are not to be found in U.N. refugee camps because they are attacked, raped, starved of food and targeted by Islamists;
  • Christians have been beheaded, crucified, raped, drowned and burned alive;
  • There is a Genocide of Christians in both Africa and the Middle East;
  • The Islamic State and other Jihadist groups are openly glorifying the mass slaughter of Christians in the media;
  • Canada is recognized as a tolerant nation, not a naive one, and Canadians will no longer tolerate the intolerant; and
  • There is a precedent for such as our proposed Resolution, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a Resolution on January 27th, 2016 condemning the crimes of the “Islamic State”, and this Resolution reads: “States should act on the presumption that Daesh [ISIS] commits Genocide and should be aware that this entails action under the 1948 United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide".
We, the undersigned, citizens of Canada, call upon the House of Commons in Parliament assembled to adopt a resolution condemning the crime of Genocide of Christians in Africa and Middle East.
