Petition to the House of Commons
Whereas:
- 1 in 12 Canadians are affected by a Rare Disease or Disorder;
- Rare Diseases Impact more people than Aids and cancer combined;
- 350 Million people globally are fighting rare diseases;
- 50% of the people affected by rare diseases are children; and
- We are honored that each year the Mayors of Ajax and Pickering along with Mayors across Canada proclaim the last day of February as Rare Disease Day.
We, the undersigned, Citizens of Canada, call upon the House of Commons to join others around the world in setting aside the last day of February each year as Rare Disease Day.
