Petition to the House of Commons

Whereas:
  • Employment Insurance parental benefits are revoked immediately following the death of a child under one year of age;
  • Being forced to return to work immediately after losing a child is not always an option for grieving parents; and
  • The financial hardship that some parents have to go through, in addition to their grief, can be overwhelming.
We, the undersigned, petitioners, call upon the House of Commons in Parliament assembled to look at ways to provide better support to parents who lose a child under the age of one.
