WHEREAS:

• The Liberal government gave a three-year suspension of the Carbon Tax to Atlantic Canadians who use home heating oil, while not offering the same tax break to western Canadians who heat their homes using natural gas;

• Inflation is driving up the cost of food, fuel and housing and rising interest rates are causing severe financial hardship; and

• According to a recent MNP analysis, more than half of Canadians are within $200 of not being able to pay their bills at the end of each month and Canada already has the highest household debt in the G7.

We, the undersigned residents of Westman, call upon the Government of Canada to:

• Immediately eliminate the Carbon Tax from home heating.
