Petition to the House of Commons

We, the undersigned citizens of Canada, draw the attention of the House of Commons to the following:

Whereas, the Government through rhetoric, policy, action, and inaction has led to a national unity crisis.

Therefore we, the undersigned, call on the Government to take the following actions to address the situation:

1. That the Government take responsibly for creating a national unity crisis; and

2. That the Government ensure that there are no bureaucratic or legislative roadblocks for provinces who wish to exercise their constitutionally allowed measures of autonomy.

Response by the President of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs

Signed by (Minister or Parliamentary Secretary): Kevin Lamoureux

National unity is of paramount importance. The Government of Canada is committed to a united Canada and to ensuring that the federal government works for all Canadians.

The Government of Canada is committed to fostering productive and collaborative relationships with all provinces and territories and to respecting the Constitutional division of powers to allow all orders of government to act within their areas of jurisdiction.
