Petition to the House of Commons
Whereas:
- Women pay approximately 43% more than men for personal care products and this creates an undue financial burden on women;
- According to a study by the CBC, products marketed toward women cost 6% more than similar ones marketed toward men; and
- Women pay up to 51% more on deodorant and 65% more on body wash.
We, the undersigned, residents of Ottawa, call upon the House of Commons to pass laws prohibiting businesses from charging higher prices for products and services targeted to different genders.
